Cookie policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026.

This page lists exactly which cookies this site uses. It is a list of what actually exists, not a generic text.

What they are

Small files a site stores in your browser to remember something between pages or between visits. Some are needed for the site to work; others let us understand what gets read and measure our campaigns.

How we ask

On your first visit a notice appears with two options, Accept and Essential only, side by side and with the same weight. Until you choose, nothing for measurement or marketing is loaded.

Your choice is kept for a year. To change it, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the notice comes back.

Essential cookies

These always load, because without them the site does not do what it promises. They do not identify anyone and do not follow you across other sites.

CookieWhat it doesLifetime
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the language you chose, so you do not land back in English every visit1 year
nilg_consentRemembers your decision about this policy. Without it, the notice would reappear every time1 year

Measurement and marketing cookies

These only load after you accept. If you choose "Essential only", none of them is written and the services themselves are never loaded.

CookieSet byWhat it doesLifetime
nilg_attrNILG.AIRecords where your first visit came from (campaign, search engine, referring site), so we know what works90 days
_ga, _ga_*Google AnalyticsCounts visits and pages read, with the IP address anonymised2 years
_fbp, _fbcMetaMeasures our Facebook and Instagram campaigns90 days
Apollo cookiesApollo.ioIdentifies the company behind the network a visit comes from, so we know what kind of companies visit usUp to 1 year

We also store the key nilg.consent.v1 in your browser's local storage (not a cookie, but it sits on your device) holding the same decision as the nilg_consent cookie.

Third-party content inside the site

Some pages embed content from elsewhere, for example videos. Those services may set their own cookies when the content loads, and they are governed by their own policies.

How to turn them off

In the notice, by choosing "Essential only". Or in your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies from any site:

  • Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences, Privacy
  • Firefox: Settings, Privacy and security
  • Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions

Blocking the essential ones may stop the site from remembering your chosen language.
